the occupancy curves peak at wire 40 (the detector centre). The upstream
plane has a less uniform curve caused by greater amounts of cross talk between
the wires in a plane due to the high ionizing capabilities of the muon.
Figure 3
shows results from a multiplexed PC plane. Wire multiplexing is evident
as the outer wires only have information in every fourth bin. The typical
histogram for a central PC plane is shown in Figure 4
and relays that fact that only the central 46 wires in these planes are
instrumented.
