BEAMLINE:

Beamline settings can be calculated using an OpenOffice spreadsheet.
In the e614 account, you can run OpenOffice by typing

  ~/OpenOffice1.0/soffice &

The spreadsheet file is here:

  /home/e614/spreadsheets/new_dacs.sxc

It is recommended that you save this as "work.sxc" before making
changes.  You can predict the tune for a desired momentum by changing
the number in bold.

Note that all DAC settings can be found by looking at the .snap files
(which are just text files).

DO NOT DISCONNECT OR DEPOWER THE M13B1 #1 NMR PROBE, due to a problem
with radiation damage; we may not recover the B1 NMR signal at all if
that happens!  There is a second magnetometer in the counting room for
B1NMR ranges 2 and 3.  You'll have to: turn off the readout module
(between the NMR modules), switch the data readout cable in the back
of the magnetometers from one to the other so the slow controls can
read it, and turn the readout module back on...

There are actually three ways to tell what a magnet is set to: the DAC
(an integer telling the power supply what to do), and two current
readbacks (labelled "readback" and "DCT").  (You can usually ignore
the "setpoint", as long as it's "close".)  If you can't get the DAC,
readback, and DCT to agree simultaneously with the values listed here,
then:
- If the DCT and readback agree, set according to the DCT.
- If the DCT and readback disagree, one of them is probably wrong, so
  set according to the DAC.
For the dipole magnets (B1 and B2), trust the NMR above all else.
In any case, if there was disagreement with anything please state this
in the elog.

PLEASE POST A SNAPSHOT OF THE UBEAM WINDOW TO ELOG after setting the
tune.
